A "goalless" opening

2010-08-10 10:41:23
Sunday's match against Jagiellonia Białystok ended with a "goalless" draw, but still brought a lot of excitement and positive emotions to the public, as they could watch a fightfull and ambitious football encounter.

Effective interventions of Jaga's goalkeeper saved the day for the guest team as Śląsk Wrocław literally strafed him with goal strikes. There were 30 goal attempts on our part, yet we didn't manage to score. For most of the time Śląsk dominated the game. Until 25' we had already had 14 goal attempts and 8 corners.

The team's biggest concern seems to be the lack of comunication on the pitch between strikers as our new acquisition - Cristian Diaz doesn't speak Polish yet. On the other hand, you can tell he's a highly motivated and technically prepared player to make a lot of mess in the penalty area. Another treat was to watch our new "wing man" Waldemar Sobota, who was also selected to the best team of the round.

All in all, Śląsk Wrocław seems to have made very good transfers this summer as all new players in the game proved to be active, with character and eager to win. Surely, the team needs more time to start cooperating despite minor communication problems or character discrepancies.

Hope you'll enjoy our game next time - on 20th Aug at 8 pm against Legia Warszawa. Tickets are already available!
