Another loss for Wroclaw

2010-09-20 12:18:52
Football supporters in Łódź and all over Poland on TV were able to see as much as seven goals in Śląsk's last encounter. However, most of them were scored by our opponent.

Śląsk lost in three previous matches, thus they seemed extremely motivated to bring three points from Łódź and make their fans happy and believe in the team again. Perhaps eventually it was their biggest problem as having played offensively, they forgot about the defense, which Widzew easily took advantage of.

On the other hand, our opponent was quite laid-back as they are at a much higher position in Ekstraklasa ranking and had their last year's best scorer - Marcin Robak - back in the team. Indeed, it was a great comeback as this forward attacker managed to score a hattrick. Apart from him, Widzew had another dangerous player - Darvydas Sernas, who until Saturday had scored all goals for his team. In the last match, he managed to deafeat our goalkeeper twice. All in all five goals on our opponents part. Doesn't help the fact that the penalty for Widzew in 28' was the result of the referee's mistake.

Nevertheless, one has to admit some of our footballers presented quite a witty play. Among them was definitely Piotr Ćwielong, who made the score even for a while in 32', and Waldemar Sobota, who deserved his first goal in Ekstraklasa in 89'.

This game was another dissapointment for our fans, but let's not forget that the season has just started and we still have a chance to get back in the saddle.
