Another successful finish

2010-05-19 09:51:10
Last week Śląsk crushed Odra in the last 15 min, and this time it happened very much alike.

In the first half our team didn't give us many ocations to cheer as there were only a few dangerous situations in the penalty area and they let the opponent score in 21'. Arka was drunk with happinness because that goal was bringing them closer to defeating Śląsk and protecting themselves from relegation to the lower division.

However, it seems that our players got used to attacking in the end, when the opponent is already tired or convinced of success. Our first goal was scored with a header by Mario Pawelec in 77'. At that moment, the team went ahead to attack and six minutes later Vuk Sotirovic placed a beautiful long distance strike in Arka's net which occured to be a precious goal that brought us first home victory this year.

All in all, Śląsk seems to know how to perform a spectacular finish and satisfy the crowd gathered at Oporowska Stadium that proved to be very supportive the whole 2009/2010 season. If you want to see five best goals of the last round, including two from Śląsk - Arka match, they are available here.

To sum up, Śląsk Wrocław finished 9th in the overall Ekstraklasa ranking. It is a good result; however, we expect to see much better football next season and so we will keep you informed on the team's preparations, new transfers and other club events.

Hope you've enjoyed our game!
