Kaźmierczak Grabs Śląsk A Point

A last minute free-kick from substitute Przemysław Kaźmierczak rescued a draw for Śląsk Wrocław against Pogoń Szczecin in Stadion Wrocław last night.
On a chilly night the fans who braved the cold saw plenty of endeavor in the first half, but the opening 45 minutes were also devout of the kind of magic or inspiration required to break the deadlock.

Given the nature of the game, it was either an individual moment of genius or a set piece that would trigger the first goal. Sadly for Śląsk it was the latter, and Pogoń Szczecin were the benefactors. In the 51st minute Marian Kelemen gave away a penalty for a foul on Robak, who emphatically took up the opportunity to put his team in front in to make it 1-0.

WKS huffed and puffed around the opposition box for most of the second half but it seemed almost inevitable that Szczecin would hold on for the win. Substitute Przemysław Kaźmierczak had other ideas however, and his superbly taken free kick in the last minute saved Śląsk's blushes.

The goal gave Śląsk hope of a stealing an improbable victory in stoppage time, but in the end it was too little too late and the game finished 1-1.
