Stevanović Nets Hat-trick In 6 Goal Thriller

Dalibor Stevanović was the man of the moment in yesterday's pulsating relegation clash against Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, scoring a hat-trick in an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Stevanović got the first goal of the game in the 21st minute, following a superb passage of team play. Sebastian Mila beat his man on the right wing and fed in Marco Paixao, whose delightful cross was nodded across goal by Patejuk. The ball fell nicely for the on-running Stevanović, who volleyed the ball clinically into the back of the net.

WKS weren't in the lead for long however. Just five minutes later Dudu's arms blocked a goalbound shot, leaving the referee with no option but to give a penalty. Sokolowski then emphatically struck his spot kick into the top corner to tie things up at 1-1.

Just before the break Śląsk took the lead for the second time thanks to another goal from Stevanović. Dudu made amends for giving away the penalty with a delightful cross into the box, which Stevanović powered in to the goalkeepers left.

Things regrettably turned around in the second half however. In the 66th minute a mis-kick by Calahorro, who was making his debut, allowed Jan Blazek to run in on goal for a golden opportunity that he duly converted.

Then just two minutes later Śląsk conceded another penalty. The Brazilian left back clearly pushed his man in the box, gifting Sokolowski another chance to score from the spot. Once again the spot kick was expertly taken, and WKS found themselves behind for the first time in the match.

Nevertheless, Śląsk's positive forward play was there for all to see, largely due to the introduction of Flavio Paixao. The twin brother of WKS' captain Marco has been a great addition to the squad, and it was his skills that help bring about Śląsk's crucial equaliser. The Portuguese winger managed to jink his way in behind the defence and cut the ball back for Sebastian Mila, whose cross was brilliantly headed in by Stevanović for his 3rd of the match.

The goal left both sides with five minutes plus stoppage time to battle for the 3 points, and in the archaic closing stages anyone could have won it. Śląsk did come closest though, with Flavio Paixao's header flashing inches wide of the post.

Śląsk's battle to stay in Poland's top flight continues next Saturday evening, when they take on Lechia Gdansk.
