Tomorrow - last chance for an away victory

It was a bizzare weekend for Śląsk Wrocław. Our teams (seniors and under 23) scored five times in two matches, yet didn't win any of them against Piast Gliwice.

On Saturday we entered the stadium extremely motivated to gain three points as this season we haven't won an away match yet. Expectations and hopes were high on both sides as Piast is a team qualified for relegation to a lower division. Therefore, even though our both strikers scored, we didn't manage to bring three points home due to two effective actions executed by Sebastian Olszar, our opponent's new acquisition.

In the beginning, both teams were afraid to take risk and attack. Piast was a bit more active but unsuccessful, thus the game was opened in 29' by Sebastian Mila. He perfectly passed the ball to Vuk Sotirovic, who went by the goalkeeper and hit the opponent's net. Piast seamed to have fallen apart after this goal, opening the pitch for more situations on Śląsk's part, and indeed,  if it wasn't an offside, Piotr Ćwielong would have scored a few minutes later.

The situation was turned around after the break when Sebastian Olszar scored twice in only four minutes. However, Śląsk's players woke up quickly and thrived to come from behind. Again, it was Mila who took over the ball and passed it on the right side to Tomasz Szewczuk. Our striker executed an impressive volley and scored over the goalkeeper's head.

As mentioned before, the match ended with an even score, which proves great determination of both parties. However, the game between under 23  teams occured even more dramatic as it was won by Piast 4:3, after two hat-tricks - on our side by Dariusz Góral and on theirs by Maciej Mizgajski - and an additional goal by Mateusz Bodzioch that turned out to be crucial for their final success.
